Mercedes G-Class Modified by German Special Customs

German Special Customs unveiled its tuned up Mercedes G-Class last week. The iconic G-Class was fitted by the aftermarket firm with a couple of styling upgrades to make its visuals more striking.

While most tuners nowadays are more focused on the latest models of the range such as the G63 AMG, German Special Customs turned away from the norm and got their hands on an older diesel version of the vehicle instead, which is the G400 CDI. According to autoevolution, the decision for the tuner to go for an older model is to take advantage of the V8 aura that is now lacking with the latest-generation of the G-Class diesel variant, namely the G350 BlueTEC. The source noted that the current line-up only offers a V6 diesel model.

There was no mention about engine modifications in the report, so it is assumed that the tuner retained the 250 hp engine of the vehicle. Well, if you are using the G-Class anyway more on off-road terrains, that is pretty more than enough to get you pass sandy, muddy, uneven, wet, dry, and snowy terrains.

Basically, the upgrades placed by the tuning company to the Mercedes G-Class resembled the ones offered by AMG from the bumpers, skirts and spoiler. However, the tuner upped the ante a little by employing a flashier styling. Among the noticeable features of the customized G-Class, which cannot be seen on its AMG counterpart, are the extra daylight running lights found on the bottom of its lip spoiler, more stylish signature badges of the tuner, redesigned side-mounted exhaust tips, the carbon-look mirror caps, new spare wheel cover, plus added set of grilles in the rear bumper. Massive wheels measuring 22 inches with seven-spoke design and wrapped with 305/40 R22 tires were also added.
