A few hours ago, Mercedes-Benz TV, released a new video via YouTube with the title “Sensual Purity — The New C-Class Design”.
The Sensual Design presentation features the top minds of Mercedes who were responsible in the design of the Mercedes C-Class. In the video are the key figures of the brand namely, Gorden Wagener (Vice President of Design in Daimler AG), Robert Lesnik (Exterior Chief Designer of Mercedes) and Michele Jauch Paganetti (Design Manager at Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Center).
Each personality provides his own contribution in making the new Mercedes C-Class achieve its “sensual purity” features.
The video starts with Wagener who discussed how they combined avant-garde with modern luxury to arrive at an emotional but pure design of the Mercedes C-Class. He also pointed out how they adopted the sophistication and progressive design brought about by the new S-Class to provide the new Mercedes C-Class a luxurious and sporty appeal. The Daimler VP of Design went on to say in the latter part of the presentation that the C-Class aims to define new standards in the luxury car segment.
Next is Lesnik who emphasized the importance of the car’s side view. He said that they designed the 2015 Mercedes C-Class in such a way that its volumes are balanced to its proportion and to ensure that its overall frame sits well with the wheels. The exterior designer of Mercedes went on to say that they incorporated exaggeration together with the perfect proportion of the car to make it look very attractive.
Lesnik proudly showed the two primary designs of the new C-Class that customers can choose from. One is the car featuring a luxury grille with 3D treatment and three fine lamellas plus an upright star. The other offers an avant-garde grille with two lamellas and one central star which displays a more sporty look.
Lastly, Paganetti demonstrates how the brand balanced the high-end design and the functionality of the car in the interior to produce a sensual design statement.
