Tight Supply of CLA Class Cars in US this 2014 is Expected

CLA Class
Daimler is looking at a tight supply of the CLA class in the first six months of 2014.

The Mercedes CLA class cars have been selling hot in the US since they came out. In fact, it was one of the reasons why the company is looking a lead in the US market at the end of 2013 after the two-year dominance of BMW. The success of the brand in its CLA class models has also contributed to the fact that Mercedes is expecting to close or even exceed the gap created by BMW in terms of sales by March 2014.

According to Steve Cannon in his interview with Bloomberg, the impact of the new model is such that it is considered to be the best launch of the brand in 20 years. He added that right when it came out, it has been a phenomenal success.

Tight Inventories and Low Supply Expected in First Half of 2014

Despite the overwhelming achievement of Mercedes with the CLA class, Daimler released letter to its US dealers in December 9 which notified them of the impending tight inventories and low supply of the car during the first half of 2014.

Bloomberg stated that the letter explained how the CLA plants are now at their full capacity. It pointed out that the supply of the car will only be able to support the demand of its customers by July 2014.

CLA Class Bringing In New Faces

The same report noted that it was observed by US Mercedes dealerships that their customers have grown when the CLA came out. Then, based on the research of the company, the CLA class has been responsible in bringing in younger buyers.

Statistics revealed that the median age of CLA buyers is 46. The source claimed that it is a huge improvement in comparison to the median age of Mercedes buyers which is 57.
