Faulty Airbags Result To The Recall Of 3,500 Citans

Over 3,500 Mercedes-Benz Citan vans were recalled because of faulty airbags, a report from NewStraitsTimes said.

A Daimler spokesperson confirmed the news and stated that the decision was due to the poor test results involving the box-type Citan airbags. The representative revealed that the airbags of the van scored three out of five stars in an NCAP crash test survey.

Daimler CEO, Dr. Dieter Zetsche, admitted that the results were unsatisfactory. However, he added that they are currently looking into the matter now.

It should be known that the company constantly reminds consumers through their ads that they have the safest vehicles in the world. Thus, this issue may somewhat impact their image and affect even the sale of their other products if they won’t sort this out soon.
