Mercedes-Benz Unveils A G-Class Adorned With Authentic Diamonds

Giancarlo Perlas February 15, 2024

Mercedes-Benz is once again set to impress the luxury SUV market with the introduction of a special edition G-Class adorned with authentic diamonds. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class Stronger Than Diamonds Edition unveiled last Valentine’s Day is a limited production run of only 300 units worldwide.

Lavish Design

The Stronger Than Diamonds Edition boasts exquisite design elements that set it apart from the standard G-Class. The exterior of the vehicle features an elegant Rosewood Grey Magno paint, complemented by a diamond encrusting on the exterior door handles and a silver badge.

Luxurious Interior

The G-Class Stronger Than Diamonds Edition sports a truly lavish interior. Black nappa leather upholstery envelops the cabin while deep-pile floor mats provide an added touch of elegance beneath.

Meanwhile, stainless steel “Stronger Than Diamonds” badging adorns the door sills and the front passenger grab handle to further enhance the lavish appeal of the interior.

What’s more, Diamonds with 0.25-carat are embedded into its stainless-steel door locking pins to add opulence and sophistication to an already iconic legacy vehicle from the distinguished three-pointed star marque.

Powerful Performance

The Stronger Than Diamonds Edition is based on the G 550 model equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine. This unit delivers up to 416 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque for the imposing G-Class.

It’s expected that the US-bound G 550 may switch to an inline-6 engine as part of a 2025 model-year update, following Mercedes’ plans to discontinue the V8 in non-AMG G-Class models in other markets. The V8 engine will still be available in the updated AMG G 63 though, with the addition of a mild-hybrid system.

Furthermore, Mercedes also has plans to introduce an EQG electric vehicle (EV) model alongside the updated gasoline models.

Pricing for the Limited Edition Mercedes-Benz G-Class

The G-Class Stronger Than Diamonds Edition starts at $201,100, including a $1,150 destination charge. Compared to the base G 550, this special edition carries a premium of $56,950.

From the looks of it, the additional cost is mainly due to the extra luxurious elements, particularly the diamond embellishments, rather than any performance enhancements.

Ethically-Sourced Diamonds and Certification for the Special Mercedes-Benz G-Class

Together with the exclusive offering is a guarantee that the diamonds used in the special edition G-Class were responsibly mined. Each buyer receives a certificate from the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC) certifying that they originate from ethically, socially, and ecologically conscious sources.
