Toto Wolff’s Tenure

Wolff started his position as both principal and CEO of Mercedes F1 in 2013 and he is the current co-owner of the motorsport group. The year also marked the historic career of Lewis Hamilton with the team. The inking of the new contract guarantees his term for three seasons starting this year.

Under Wolff’s guidance, the group achieved eight consecutive Constructors’ Championships between 2014 and 2021. Along the way, it also achieved seven successive Drivers’ Championships with Hamilton bagging six and Nico Rosberg taking one for the team.

“As a shareholder, I want the best return on investment and the best return on investment is winning,” said Wolff. “I’m not going to try to hang on to a position that I think somebody is going to do better than me.”

“I make sure that I have people around who can tell me otherwise,” added the Mercedes F1 head honcho. “In the end the three of us decided: ‘Let’s do it again’.”

James Allison’s Run

Allison likewise extended his contract to synch his term with Wolff’s. This props him until the effectivity of the new F1 technical regulations in 2026.

“Put simply, he is the most impressive technical leader in our sport,” Wolff remarked in favor of Allison. “His gladiator spirit, along with his knowledge, experience, and determination, make him second-to-none.”

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell’s Contractual Agreements

Hamilton and Russell already have guaranteed positions as drivers with Mercedes F1 until 2025. The announcement came in just before the 2023 Italian Grand Prix event where Russell and Hamilton finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
