Yasa’s single motor power unit weighing just 24 kilograms (53 pounds), generates a whopping 480 horsepower (487 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, which underscores Mercedes-AMG’s pursuit of unmatched performance on its journey to the EV realm.
AMG-Exclusive EV Platform
The upcoming AMG full electric model will ride on the AMG.EA platform. This platform, exclusive for high-performance vehicles, will serve as the foundation for the new era of Mercedes-AMG.
Anticipated to hit the market in 2025, AMG’s electric marvel is expected to surpass the ONE in terms of power. The hypercar, driven by a 1.6-liter turbo engine integrated into a hybrid setup with three electric motors, boasts a formidable 1,049 horsepower (1,063 PS) and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque.
AMG-Specific Design
According to Mercedes design head Robert Lesnik’s interview with Autoevolution, the upcoming electric AMG model will feature an illuminated grille and headlamps with a new star design, giving it a unique identity.
The iconic three-pointed star logo will be incorporated into the bonnet, and the model will sit closer to the ground than any other AMG vehicle.
