The Miami GP Result

Verstappen had missed the chance to set a qualifying time after a botched first run, and he was then denied a further opportunity by Charles Leclerc’s late-session crash. The two-time champ fought his way up the field, finishing with an official time of 1:27:38.241. He was followed by teammate Sergio Perez in second place and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso in third.

Mercedes F1’s George Russell was also a standout performer, making his way through a number of drivers on the opposite strategy to secure fourth place, ahead of Carlos Sainz in fifth. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton, who started from 13th place, put up a late surge to grab the sixth place.

The seven-time world champion’s result was primarily thanks to a well-executed strategy. Hamilton’s Mercedes had started on hard tires.

Mercedes F1’s Post-race Interviews

Russell expressed his satisfaction with the race in a post-race interview, considering the difficulties in qualifying. He was pleased to finish fourth and ahead of the Ferraris, whom he had to overtake. The Mercedes driver was also grateful to his teammate Hamilton for allowing him to pass and get on with his race.

Hamilton, on his part, was happy with the progress made after starting from 13th place. He noted that the start was not spectacular due to him being stuck in a DRS train and struggling to overtake. However, he bided his time and eventually made his way up the field. The Briton was pleased with the team’s effort and morale, despite not being where they want to be.

Conclusion

Overall, the Miami GP showcased some impressive performances, with Verstappen’s victory from the ninth place being the highlight of the race as well as the solid showing from our favorite Mercedes F1 drivers.
