Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV Teased Ahead Of April 17 Unveiling
Giancarlo Perlas March 29, 2023The ultra-luxury segment of the three-pointed star marque is finally getting its all-electric model. On April 17, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV will finally be unveiled at Auto Shanghai in China. Recently, the German automaker teased the vehicle ahead of its official launch.
The teaser photo of Mercedes shows the Maybach EQS SUV covered in fine fabric. However, those who have followed its concept and spy shots as of late may already have an idea of what it looks like under the sheet.
Body Styling Elements
As part of the Maybach line, the vehicle will certainly carry the opulent vertical faux grille resembling the one found on the Maybach versions of the S-Class and the GLS. Of course, it will also come with special Maybach-specific ornaments on its hood emblem, bumper mesh, special glossy paint finish, and body accents to keep it distinct from the standard Benz and high-performance AMG models.
Interior Design
The icing on the cake when talking about the Maybach versions of Mercedes’ flagship models though can always be found on the interior. For sure, its maker will find ways to cram every bit of luxury, tech, and comfort elements imaginable in the cabin of the SUV, especially in the rear. These will likely include individual seating at the back, heating for the seats, a massage function for each seat, folding tables, roller blinds, a panoramic sunroof, extra touchscreen displays, and a complimentary refrigerator for champagne bottles coupled with champagne flutes, among others.
Powertrain
Mercedes is quiet about the power figures of the Maybach EQS 680. But then again, the SUV will most probably mirror the same dual-motor, all-wheel drive system found in the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 SUV. With that, it might carry a higher output than the said EV’s 536 hp and 633 lb-ft of torque powertrain.
Live Unveiling
