1992 Mercedes-Benz 190E Owned By Sir Paul McCartney’s Daughter Up For Grabs
Giancarlo Perlas March 18, 2023A rare 1992 Mercedes-Benz 190E, gifted to fashion designer Stella McCartney by her father, legendary musician Sir Paul McCartney, is up for auction in Worcestershire this week. The K-reg car is expected to sell for between £5,000 and £8,000 due to its unique history and low mileage of just 43,000.
Kept in “Very Tidy” Condition
The car has only had one owner, Stella McCartney herself, and has been kept in excellent condition. According to an interview with Ben Homer, the auctioneer at Littleton Auctions, the vehicle has been stored in a barn for 14 years, which has helped preserve its almost pristine condition. He described the car as “very tidy” and added that it is a “bit of a time warp” due to its excellent condition and lack of regular use.
It Comes with a Beatles Giveaway
Interestingly, the car comes with a small nod to its famous former owner, as Stella McCartney left an annual in the back featuring the Beatles. The 1992 Mercedes-Benz 190E is from the W201 line that was produced from 1982 until 1993 and is known for its durability, luxury, and performance.
The former owner lives just ten miles away from the auction house, making it possible for her to attend the event and witness the sale of her beloved car. Other classic and antique cars that are part of the auction include a 1981 DeLorean, which is famous for its appearance in the Back to the Future movies.
Selling Points of the Car
This is a rare opportunity for car enthusiasts and fans of Sir Paul McCartney to own a piece of automotive history. The car’s link to the legendary singer, low mileage, and excellent condition make it a desirable item for collectors and fans alike.
