Blue Variant Of The Mercedes-AMG GT PHEV Spied

Giancarlo Perlas February 8, 2023

Just after the sighting of the new Mercedes-AMG GT prototype in “Green Hell Magno”, here’s another variant of the coupe in blue paint. Same as the previous, the spy shots of the partially camouflaged car were snapped while it was undergoing winter testing.

The car photographed by Motor1 appears to be the base trim of the upcoming AMG GT PHEV. The key indicator of this is the set of circular exhausts behind the auto. Normally, the trapezoidal exhaust tips are reserved for the most potent trims of AMG vehicles, so this is definitely from the lower trim level. Likewise, the Green Hell color is also given to the top trims of the GT range.

Similar to the AMG GT spied earlier, this one has a cutout in its rear camo that looks like the cover of its charging port. We can barely make out the interior design of the auto from the angle of the shots, but looking through the front windshield hints that there may be rear seats in the coupe.

The AMG GT taking on a hybrid route no longer comes as a surprise—considering the electrification roadmap of Mercedes on its way to 2030. Meanwhile, the new rows of seats at the back are indicative of the model taking on a more practical approach mirroring the SL which it shares a platform with.

According to the source, the AMG GT PHEV is expected to be released as a 2024 model-year product. On the other hand, its world premiere is most probably happening this year.
