Brabus Unveils More Opulent Tuning Package for the Mercedes-Maybach S580
Giancarlo Perlas October 7, 2022Just last year, Brabus unveiled its tuning program for the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Without missing a beat, the German tuner is back with its take on the more opulent variant of the three-pointed star marque’s flagship range, which comes in the form of the Mercedes-Maybach S580.
The Brabus 600, as the package is called, is highlighted by its major facelift in and out as well as an augmented V8 engine that’s set to deliver additional power.
Exterior
The exterior of the limousine is adorned with carbon fiber materials on the bumper, splitter, and diffuser. Rather than the bright chrome accents, the tuner has imbued the car with a darker aura with its Shadow Chrome finish topped off by classic Shadow Gray monoblock forged wheels measuring 22 inches in diameter. Brabus Masterpiece badges further put emphasis on the exclusivity of the car.
The Brabus 900 is noticeably lower than its factory form because of the Brabus SportXtra module dropping its ride height by 0.8 inches to provide it better stability and handling.
Interior
Entering the cabin reveals cooler vibes brought about by the minty-looking interior design as Brabus outfitted the interior of the luxury car with new Turquoise Blue leather upholstery on most surfaces complete with the specialist’s signature “Seashell Diamond” quilting and black piping for extra highlights. Further elevating its styling are touches of carbon fiber on the center tunnel, dashboard, and door inserts.
All these fairly complement the high-end features of the Maybach S-Class, which include ventilated and heated independent rear seats, a fully digital cockpit, and ambient lighting.
Power
A new software upgrade gives the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine of the Maybach S580 a total of 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The numbers are only a bit more than the stock version of the vehicle that produces 496 hp and 516 lb-ft, but the extra oomph brings it closer to the more potent V12-powered S680 of the range. The numbers are distributed via a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.
The overall configuration of the tuned Maybach S580 lets it sprint from zero to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds similar to the S680 variant of the Maybach S-Class. On the other hand, the top speed of the luxury vehicle is still capped at 155 mph.
Pricing
Brabus hasn’t revealed the pricing for its new tuning package for the Mercedes-Maybach S580. Those who are interested in the product can visit the official website of the company for a quotation.
