2022 Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate Spied on the Road

At the beginning of 2021, we were greeted with the unveiling of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan and estate. However, even before that, we were already teased with spy shots of the Mercedes-AMG C63 versions of the vehicles, and the three-pointed star brand already revealed the engine specs of the autos. Recently, the wagon model was seen cruising the road again.

The car was spied by Motor1 in full camouflage once more, which somehow contorts our perception of the true shape of its body. It’s undoubtedly the C-Class estate though because of its strong resemblance with its standard Benz model and the AMG C63 we have spotted last month.

Among the key identification points of the prototype’s AMG origins is its front grille with vertical slats also known as the “Panamericana grille”, a subtle front lip spoiler, large air vents on the sides of the front bumper, quadruple exhaust tips, and rear diffuser. The wheels were noticeably mismatched again like our last sighting.

The performance details of the AMG C63 are pretty scarce as of the moment but insiders confirmed that it will take the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine found in the AMG A45, but it will be combined with an integrated starter-generator (ISG) and rear-mounted motor.

The setup will give the wagon up to 550 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, which is 47 hp and 74 lb-ft up compared to the outgoing Mercedes-AMG C63 S model. That should take it from 0 to 62 mph in only 3.5 seconds too, which is 0.6 seconds faster than its predecessor.
