Mercedes-Benz SLK Takes a Bow with SLC Final Edition Model
Giancarlo Perlas February 22, 2019The Mercedes-Benz SLC Final Edition is here! The new model marks the end of an era for the car formerly known as the Mercedes-Benz SLK when it was introduced in 1996.
The SLC is Mercedes’ smallest two-seater roadster, so the end of its production means that it will leave a void in that category. Well, that’s not until the German automaker releases another small roadster to fill in the gap in the foreseeable future. So far, there are no official statements of what the carmaker has in store for the model’s successor.
The SLC Final Edition can be ordered starting today, and deliveries for it will commence in March. The price of the car starts at €41,536.95 or £36,093.63, including its 19% VAT. That’s a hefty tag, so better not skip on its car insurance if you are purchasing it. You can shop around for the best car insurance quotes for it at QuoteRadar.co.uk.
The SLC Final Edition model is a tribute to the very colorful history of the SLK. Speaking of colors, the vehicle is offered in yellow as a throwback to the initial color of choice for the first-ever SLK that came out decades ago. There are other colors such as black, black obsidian, polar white, diamond white and selenite grey for those who do not want the bright solar finish for the auto’s exterior.
Keeping the special edition car apart from the standard SLC too are its 5-spoke AMG light alloy wheels, sports suspension lowering its height by 10mm, and large braking system. Meanwhile, going inside reveals a two-tone Nappa leather in black/silver pearl adorned with alpaca grey stitching. Carbon leather are also used for its headrests and selector lever.
