Hear the Tires of the Mercedes-Benz EQC Scream for Mercy

Giancarlo Perlas July 17, 2018

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz EQC may have ditched the conventional petrol and diesel engines in exchange for electric motors but its performance certainly does not disappoint. Recently, the upcoming electric vehicle (EV) was filmed while it was undergoing testing at the Nurburgring track in Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

The video provides us a look at the speed of the auto, and turning up its volume will reveal the amazing note coming from its power unit.

Styling

According to Automotive Mike, this video of the EQC was taken during the Industry Pool at the endurance track. The electric sport utility vehicle is still clad in the usual zebra camouflage that Mercedes uses to hide the features of their prototypes. However, we could see that its form seems to borrow key styling elements from the Mercedes-Benz GLC.

It is expected that there will be slight revisions in the design of the EQC though to keep it distinct from the GLC. The spied EQC also appears to have a longer wheelbase than the GLC.

In addition,  it should be noted that the EQC uses the Modular Electric Architecture that is a lot different than the platform used by the GLC, so definitely look forward to some revisions on the exterior of the EV compared with its fuel-fed counterpart.

Performance

Mercedes revealed that the two electric motors of the EQC will offer up to 300 kW. The German luxury car manufacturer promises that the EV can sprint from 0-100 km/h in under 5 seconds as well.

The video above suggests that the company may have kept its promise after all.
