Posaidon Gives the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 S 1,090 HP
Giancarlo Perlas July 27, 2017There is a lot to be excited about in the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class. But just when many thought that it would render its 2017 model obsolete, Posaidon recently released its tuning package that would give the luxury car a lot of boost in its engine department.
According to TopSpeed, the famous German aftermarket tuner Posaidon just unveiled its package for the Mercedes-AMG E63 S. The kit focuses on the power unit of the car. Buyers will have the option to bring up the output of their performance E-Class up to a whopping 1,090 hp and 966 lb-ft of torque.
The said configuration allows the E63 S to sprint from zero to 60 mph in an estimated time of 2.6 seconds. On the other hand, its maximum speed is approximately 220 mph.
Posaidon achieved the mentioned numbers by increasing the displacement of the car’s 5.5-liter V8 engine to 6.5 liters. The boost pressure of the vehicle’s turbochargers are upgraded as well. Then an intercooler is installed to manage the massive power of the auto. Lastly, the tuner gave the AMG E-Class a clean software upgrade. The increase in power is complemented by some tweaks in the seven-speed transmission of the E63 S coupled with suspension modifications.
For those who think that the more than a thousand horsepower output is very overpowered, they can opt for the upgrades that would increase the power of the E63 S to a still staggering figures of 850 hp or 920 hp.
Aside from the engine, transmission and suspension upgrades, Posaidon does not provide the E63 S with anything else. For now, it remains to be seen if the specialist will also offer aerodynamic and cosmetic enhancements in the exterior and interior of the car.
