Top 4 Features of the G-Power Mercedes-AMG GT
Giancarlo Perlas January 15, 2017G-Power just released details about its new tuning package for the Mercedes-AMG GT. The kit significantly bumps up the engine output of the car. The program gives the auto a new set of wheels too.
G-Power is more popular as an aftermarket tuner for high-performance BMW luxury vehicles. But it should be noted that the German company also tinkered with several Mercedes-AMG versions of the G-Class and S-Class in the past. Earlier this month, it introduced its work involving the sports car independently made by AMG.
Here is a quick look at the exterior, interior, engine and pricing of the G-Power Mercedes-AMG GT:
Exterior
According to a report, G-Power fitted the AMG with its Hurricane RR forged alloy wheels. The front wheels measure 20 inches and the rear ones are 21 inches. The wheels are offered in a variety of finishes including Gunmetal Grey, Diamond-Cut, Jet Black, and Stardust Silver. There is a set of ultra-light alloy wheels available in Polished Silver as well.
The tuner does not provide any other enhancements in the body of the AMG GT aside from its new set of wheels.
Interior
Like most tuners do, G-Power kept the original interior elements of the AMG GT intact.
Engine
Popping up the hood of the AMG GT will reveal the same 4.0-liter biturbo engine of the car. However, G-Power installed its Bi-Tronik 5 tuning module in the ECU of the auto. It comes with a microprocessor that helps upgrade the data received by the vehicle sensors.
The tuning kit of G-Power boosts the output of the AMG GT to 610 hp with 557 lb-ft of torque. The increase enables the sports car to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds. The top speed of the vehicle is estimated to be at 200 mph.
Pricing
The new wheels cost €7,645 or approximately $8,000. The tuning module has a price tag of €2,563 or $2,679. Overall, getting the package will amount to €10,208 or just about $10,500.
