Mercedes-Benz Breaks July Unit Sales Record

According to Daimler, its luxury car brand just came from breaking its first half year record from January to June this year. So far, it did not show any signs of slowing down as it approached its third quarter sales.
Based on the company report, Mercedes sold a total of 163,770 vehicles worldwide in July. The figure is 9.4 percent higher compared to the same month of last year. So far, the three-pointed star brand delivered 1,170,389 units to customers in the first seven months of 2016. The number rose by 11.7 percent as opposed to the January to July record of last year.
Daimler attributed the best monthly sales record and the successful January to July unit sales of Mercedes to the increased demand for its products in all regions of the globe.
Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing and Sales, revealed that sales for the freshly-released Mercedes-Benz E-Class have been going smooth. At present, they were able to deliver 12,000 units of the range to customers in July.
Aside from the strong demand for E-Class sedans and estates, the Mercedes-Benz GLC was warmly welcomed by consumers as well. GLC contributed to the increase in sales of the Mercedes SUV models to a record of 56,297 units, which is 43.6 percent higher based on a year-on-year data.
The coupes, roadsters and convertible models of Mercedes did great too in the market. A total of 12,000 units of the said variants were sold, showing an increase of 19.6 percent compared to July 2015. The new C-Class Coupe and the S-Class Cabriolet were the best-sellers in this category.
The smart brand was faring well also. The company stated that the division’s sales went up by 13.8 percent in July when it delivered 10,000 compact cars to customers.
