Mercedes-Benz USA Sales Went Down 3% in Q1
Giancarlo Perlas April 1, 2016Mercedes-Benz USA just released its sales report for the month of March. According to the press release of company, it sold 28,164 luxury vehicles in the month that just ended.
The figures tally up for a total of 75,769 for the first quarter of the year. Overall, the first quarter Mercedes-Benz USA sales went down by three percent compared to the same period in 2015.
Outside the luxury car and SUV variants of Mercedes, the Smart brand was able to sell 479 units. Mercedes vans displayed record sales of 3,072 in March showing an increase of 29.1 percent based on a year-on-year comparison. Including the mentioned segments, sales of MBUSA sum up to 31,715 last month.
The best-sellers of the brand are the C-Class, GLC and GLE. The C-Class had the most sales with 6,658 units delivered to customers. The GLC is the most in demand SUV of the three-pointed star marque in the US with recorded sales of 4,871 units. The GLE SUV makes it within the top three with 4,730 units sold.
Mercedes-AMG had huge gains this year in terms of sales. The report said the sales of the performance division of Mercedes grew up to 60.2 percent based on a year-on-year comparison in March.
Furthermore, the environmentally-friendly BlueTEC diesel models of Mercedes sold 310 units. Then the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) units had sales of 9,380. The figures are 2.4 percent higher compared to the numbers yielded in same month of the previous year. Based on a year-to-date data, MBCPO sold 29,303. The numbers saw an increase of three percent.
