Peter Parcon February 24, 2016Undisguised prototypes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet were seen caught on video recently, as shown on a report from worldcarfans.com. It can be recalled a teaser video was released by the German luxury vehicle manufacturer showing the C-Class Cabriolet, which allowed industry watchers to see another member of the C-Class family.
The fact that the image of the luxury vehicle was similar to the C-Class Coupe did not surprise industry watchers. The main difference is the fabric roof and its somewhat modified rear end, which is essential to house the top once it is folded.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet, which has the A205 codename, features the AirScarf neck-level heating system and the AirCap auto wind protection system. While the interior will have a similar appearance as the coupe, its main difference is the addition of new buttons to facilitate control of the retractable soft top.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet will be offered in a number of turbo-charged four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines. It will also include a 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 engine offering 362 HP of power, which will be used on the Mercedes-AMG C43 Cabriolet. It will also be limited to an automatic transmission system and an all-wheel drive system. The C63 Cabriolet with its 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine offering 503 HP of power is also expected to be offered in the next few months.
The C-Class Cabriolet is expected to be unveiled online on February 29 before it will be official launched at the Geneva Motor Show. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet is expected to enter the market within the year and will cost more than the coupe.
