Mercedes-AMG C63 Convertible Spotted Going Through Cold Weather Testing
Peter Parcon January 24, 2016Spy shots of the camouflaged Mercedes-AMG C63 Convertible emerged recently as it went through testing under cold weather conditions, as shown on a report from worldcarfans.com.
For the most part, the C63 Convertible is a C63 Coupe with a soft top. It is equipped an impressive-looking front fascia featuring a singer bar grille along with a set of large-size air intakes. It also comes with sportier side skirts and AMG-style exhaust system. It sits on a set of lightweight alloy wheels featuring high-performance brakes.
While the interior cabin will be similar to the C63 Coupe, a number of enhancements may be made, including the switchgear used in controlling its retractable soft top and Airscarf seats.
The entry-level model of the C63 Convertible will feature a 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine offering 469 HP of power and torque of 479 lb-ft. The 7-speed Speedshift MCT transmission system from AMG will facilitate the acceleration of the luxury convertible from 0 to 100 km/h within four seconds. On the other hand, the C63 S Convertible features an upgraded version of the V8 engine offering 503 HP and 516 lb-ft of power and torque, respectively. The added power facilitates its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h within 3.9 seconds.
The Mercedes-AMG C63 Convertible may feature a sports-tuned suspension, limited-slip rear differential and dynamic engine mounts.
