Dashboard Panel Of 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Emerges On eBay
Peter Parcon January 5, 2016The 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class as yet to be officially unveiled by the German luxury vehicle manufacturer, but it seems some of its components have started to appear on eBay, as shown on a worldcarfans.com report.
Since the components have analog dials, it is likely that a test prototype of a base model was the source of the components. A seven-inch color screen separate the two tube-like round dials. While the screen for the infotainment system does not appear to be among the components that appeared on eBay, it measures 8.4 inches. A glossy black frame serves as the base for the dials and screens. The black frame does not seem to look as good as the dual digital screens found on other models of the luxury vehicle.
While analog dials may have some fans among Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts, some industry watchers expect the entry-level model of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class to be purchased mainly for taxi services. One way to enhance the look using the analog dials is to use it together with a 12.3-inch digital display screen found on higher-end models.
Since the tachometer has a maximum of 8,000 rpm, the speedometer, which is in mph, may have been taken from an E-Class prototype with a gas engine. The eBay listing indicates that Continental developed the components, which are currently located in Hamburg, Germany.
The last time the eBay listing for the components of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class was seen, they had to bids with the highest bid standing at $32.50 or around €30.
