Images Of Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet Prototype Emerge Again

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet complete with its retractable drop top was caught on camera recently, as shown on a report from autoevolution.com. The emergence of the images comes after a video was posted showing the heavily camouflaged Cabriolet prior to its official launch by the luxury vehicle manufacturer.
The pre-production Cabriolet features a soft top rather than the standard fixed metal roof found on the SL and SLK. The rear is slightly-modified since it was necessary to reshape the trunk to facilitate the storage of the fabric roof when it is folded. While the use of the canvas roof is mainly associated with its weight, the luxury vehicle manufacturer may likely indicate that stylish four-seat convertibles should have a rag top.
The C-Class Cabriolet is expected to offer similar comforts as the E-Class Cabrio, including the Air Scarf and Air Cap, which essentially makes it as comfortable as its big brother.
The heavy camouflage on the prototype does not matter since it was already made known in the past that the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet is essentially similar to the C-Class Coupe. The main difference between the two is the roofline. A C-Class Coupe is actually seen on the photos following this prototype, which makes it easy to have an idea how the C-Class Cabriolet will look like when it is officially released into the market.
The C-Class Cabriolet is expected to have the same engine range as the Coupe, including the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which is expected to be used on the Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet. The European market may get a C-Class Cabriolet range that includes the C180, the C200 and the C300 with gasoline engines while the C220d and the C250d for the diesel engine models. On the other hand, the US market may be limited to the C300 and an AMG version.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet is expected to be unveiled during the Geneva Motor Show or the NAIAS.
