The Mercedes-AMG GT S has an impressive power. Straight from the factory, its 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine can produce 503 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. Such power enables it to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in only 3.5 seconds. It can gain a top speed of 193 mph too. Based on the test of Car and Driver, the sports car can finish a 1/4-mile stretch from a complete halt in just 11.5 seconds.

Now what happens if the mad scientists of Renntech get their hands on one of the Mercedes-AMG GT S out there? Well, expect it to be nothing short of superb.

Recently, the aftermarket tuner released a video of the Mercedes-AMG GT S that just came from its garage. It was given a quarter-mile run on track to bring out its true potential.

From a standstill, the AMG GT S crossed the one-fourth-mile  mark in just 10.949 seconds. That’s a 0.5-second faster than what Car and Driver stated on its site. The speed trap also showed that the overall speed of the car along the way was 128.46 mph.

It was revealed that Renntech remapped the ECU of the vehicle, gave it a customized exhaust system with downpipes and catalytic converters. It was fitted with ADV 5.2 Track Spec CS alloy wheels as well to boost its overall performance.

Renntech claimed the car is the first Mercedes-AMG GT S in the world to log a 10-second 1/4-mile sprint from a full stop. The tuner hinted that its specialists are not done yet with the sports car. It said the AMG GT S package witnessed in the video is just the beginning of the tuning and performance development they have in store for the auto. In other words, there’s more to expect from the geniuses of the aftermarket tuning firm.
