Mercedes-Benz Celebrates Its 1955 Mille Miglia Victory

Mercedes-Benz is celebrating its historic victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia at the Classic Days Schloss Dyck 2015. The event will be held on July 31 and will run up to August 2 against the backdrop of the Dyck Castle in Rhineland.
Classic race cars in the storied past of Mercedes-Benz will be put on display in the paddock. A demo of the cars will also be showcased to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the victory of Sir Stirling Moss and his co-driver Denis Jenkinson in the legendary 1000-mile race.
Key Highlights
Of course, the highlight of the event is the number 722 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR race car driven by Moss six decades ago. Another notable car that will grace the event is the one-of-a-kind 540 K Streamliner, which was recently restored by the specialists of Mercedes. These will be accompanied by the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, Mercedes-Benz 180 D (Ponton), several classic German Touring Car Champhionship (DTM) race cars, and around 150 classic cars owned by private collectors and enthusiasts in the Mercedes-Benz Club area.
Famous Figures
Moss will be the guest of honor at the festival. He will be joined other famous figures and legends in the racing scene like Roland Asch, Dieter Glemser, and Ellen Lohr.
