LEGO Technic Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 Unveiled
Peter Parcon July 16, 2015One memorable joint project between Daimler and LEGO was a Unimog made out of LEGO pieces. The latest collaborative work between the two companies produced the LEGO Technic Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245, as shown on a report from autoevolution.com.
The complex toy truck is technically-accurate and comes with all the mechanical features found on an actual Mercedes-Benz Arocs, including the suspension system, frames, drives, lifts, and steering. The Aroc truck of LEGO has a total of 2,793 components, Power Functions, and a number of the latest pneumatic actuators of LEGO. Due to this, it is considered to be among the most complex creations of LEGO Technic.
The LEGO Technic Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 has a height of 12 inches or 31 centimeters, width of 5 inches or 14 centimeters and length of 21 inches or 54 centimeters.
Andreas Gruber of Mercedes-Benz Trucks said the main concern of the company when it worked with the designers of LEGO was to ensure the accuracy in the design, scale and functions of the product when compared to the original Arocs 3245. It also required the addition of numerous iconic details found of the original Arocs into the model, including the step-up, wheel clock, and handrail, among others, Gruber added.
Due to this, the LEGO variant features four axle suspensions, a turntable component, an outrigger component, pumps, and the advanced Pneumatics 2.0 system. The accuracy and details of the model may make it difficult for die-hard LEGO fans to resist the temptation of putting together the Arocs truck.
While the price tag of the upcoming product was not revealed, the official press release of Mercedes-Benz revealed that the LEGO Technic Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 will line up the shelves of retailers by August 1.
