RENNtech recently did its magic on the 2015 Mercedes A45 AMG, which the aftermarket firm called the RENNtech 295 Edition. The tuner gave the engine of the compact car a boost plus some cosmetic enhancements for added appeal.

Straight from the Mercedes-AMG factory, the A45 AMG has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine. This is considered to be the most powerful series production four-cylinder engine in the world, according to Mercedes.

The power unit provides the car 360 hp and 450 Nm of torque distributed through a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission gearbox. These give the car a zero to 100 km/h acceleration in just 4.6 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h, or 270 km/h when equipped with the optional AMG Driver’s package.

Based on a report from Autocar, after RENNtech updated the A-Class AMG’s software and configured its turbo boost pressure from 1.85 to 2.05 bar, the car’s output was raised to 452 hp and 540 Nm of torque. These significantly improved the car’s sprint from zero to 100 km/h at 3.9 seconds and its maximum speed was adjusted to around 300 km/h.

In addition to the updates mentioned above, RENNtech included upgrades in the car’s chassis, brakes, exhaust system and  catalytic converter. Other add-ons in the package were carbon fiber hood, decals, 19-inch forged alloy wheels, and rear spoiler.

Overall, the report said the Mercedes A45 AMG RENNtech 495 Edition costs £43,844.
