Hear The Roar Of The Sauber-Mercedes C11 V8 Engine
Peter Parcon June 29, 2015The roar of a V8 engine is music to the ears of the most passionate automobile enthusiasts. While it is not easy to find a car that can claim to have the capability of producing the best V8 sound ever, some industry watchers seem to think the Sauber-Mercedes C11 may deserve to be given this title, as indicated on a report from gtspirit.com.
The C11 was initially produced in 1990 as a prototype class Le Mans racing car. Its 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine has the capability of producing from 730 HP up to 950 HP of power with proper tuning. Among the notable drivers who were able to get behind the wheel of this monster of a racing car were Karl Wendlinger and Michael Schumacher.
It has a total weight of 904 kilograms or 1,995 pounds and has a maximum speed of 235 mph .The C11 was seen recently performing some runs at a track and a video footage was posted online. At the start of the video, it shows the C11 in the pits while being prepped up. After it hit the track, it simply demonstrated that it can indeed produce the best V8 sound among all the cars in the market today.
While the sound of the engine can be more pure without the use of turbos, the video shows that the Sauber-Mercedes C11 can still produce the best V8 sound anyone could ever hear.
