New Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe Filmed in a Spy Video

Giancarlo Perlas May 12, 2015

A prototype of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe (C205) was recently caught on a spy cam while it was cruising the streets of Stuttgart in Germany. The video above shows the car while it was being filmed by someone inside another Mercedes unit.

It is really hard to make out the new features of the prototype C-Class Coupe just by looking at the video because the car has been heavily camouflaged. However, one very noticeable and somewhat odd in the auto is the box in its roof.

Well, the object should not be something that everyone should be worried about because it might only be a temporary attachment used to carry some important tools or gizmo of the person testing it or its developers.

According to WorldCarFans, Gorden Wagener, the Head of Design at Mercedes-Benz, said that the new C-Class Coupe will be the “coolest version” of the W025 generation. He also revealed that it will be using the same MRA architecture present on the sedan and estate models. In addition, all the powertrains offered in the C-Class sedan will be carried over in the coupe variant.

The Mercedes-AMG C63 is expected to be the range-topping model of the C-Class Coupe. It is expected to get the 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine similar to the one found on the Mercedes-AMG GT, plus a tweaked version of the same engine with an output equal to the Mercedes-AMG GT S for the C63 S model.

Based on the source, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe will likely debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It will have a 2016 model year.
