Mercedes-AMG Petronas Goes Back to Its Winning Ways in Chinese GP
Giancarlo Perlas April 12, 2015Lewis Hamilton emerged victorious in the recently concluded 2015 Formula One Chinese Grand Prix. The reigning champion and his teammate Nico Rosberg rebounded from the upset victory handed to them by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel in the Malaysian Grand Prix two weeks ago with a one-two victory once more this Sunday.
Hamilton finished 1:39.42.008 to gain another 25 points in his driver’s scorecard. It also raised his overall points this season to 68 points. Rosberg was only 0.714 seconds behind his fellow Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver, earning him 18 points, which made his total points to 51 points.
It should be noted though that Vettel still trailed behind the Mercedes duo. However, the former world champion lagged 2.988 seconds from the first-placer. Currently, he remains second in the total tally of the drivers’ rankings in F1 with 55 points—just four points ahead of Rosberg.
Ferrari maintained its consistency as a possible threat to Mercedes with Kimi Raikkonen on the fourth place, but he finished almost a second further from his teammate. In some portions of the event, he even went pass Vettel, but the latter shot past him in the final two laps.
On the fifth and sixth were both Williams drivers, Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas.
On the other hand, the woes of Red Bull continued as Daniel Ricciardo was positioned on the 9th place of the race. He was 32.117 seconds away from the winner of the race. So, expect another rant and drama on their side again after the event.
