Mercedes-Benz CLA Pricing Continues to Spike Up
Giancarlo Perlas December 17, 2014The Mercedes-Benz CLA is very popular because it boasts the luxury appeal of the three-pointed star brand while catering to a wider array of buyers. It is MB’s most affordable car in its existing lineup. The car immediately grabbed headlines when it was introduced because of the said factors, and customers were quick to notice it.
Originally, the car was advertised with a starting price of $29,990, making its tag lesser than its rivals in the market. However, it should be mentioned that it also came with added fees like destination charges. Notwithstanding the additional costs for buyers, the car was still better in terms of pricing compared to other luxury car alternatives making its demand very high.
The launching of the 2015 model of the Mercedes-Benz CLA raked the starting price of the car up to $31,500. Add to that the usual fees and the tag goes up to $32,425. It is still a good deal because of its features, but its cost is already significantly up from its brand’s initial offering. Now, the numbers have risen once more according to Motor Authority.
Based from the source, Mercedes spiked up the prices across the CLA range. The CLA250 increased its price up by $1,600 for a total tag of $34,425, including destination charges. On the other hand, the CLA45 AMG 4MATIC has risen its price by $1,050 making its overall cost $49,425, including the destination charges.
The increase in prices of the Mercedes-Benz CLA was primarily attributed to the very high demand for the car. The year to date figures of Mercedes revealed that it sold 24,701 units of the segment in the U.S., making it the brand’s fifth most popular model across the board. It should be noted as well that the demand of the car was such that its company had trouble keeping up with its demand since it was rolled out in showrooms.
