Last June, we featured the amazing work done by Larte Design to the Mercedes-Benz GL. The tuning kit of the aftermarket firm was called the Black Crystal. The package featured awesome visual enhancements and an engine upgrade for the GL.

According to GT Spirit, the Mercedes GL Black Crystal will be among the highlights of the upcoming Essen Motor Show. So, to build hype for the vehicle in the event, Larte recently released some new photos of the auto.

Mercedes GL Black Crystal Specs

The moniker “Black Crystal” came from the crystal-like embellishments provided by the body kit of the tuning package. Among the other notable styling improvements in the SUV included a set of 22-inch alloy wheels, louder exhaust system, brand-new bumper with LED DRLs, spoiler, and air intakes. The grille, side skirts, fender extensions, and diffusers of the vehicle were also redesigned.

Under the hood, the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine of the GL was upgraded. Normally, the V6 engine of the SUV produced 258 hp and 458 lb-ft of torque. However, the tuner tinkered with it a little to bring up its output to 290 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque.
