Video: Mercedes-AMG GT Conquers the Circuit of the Americas
Giancarlo Perlas September 12, 2014
We’ve seen the spy photos and videos of the Mercedes-AMG GT as it sped smoothly in Nurburgring before. The good combination of its design, power, and handling made its sprint in the endurance track appear effortless. However, the new video of the sports car on the grounds of the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas will certainly top every spy and official videos released prior to its launching.
If you think that its assault in Nurburging was awesome, you will certainly fall in love with the car more in this video. You will not only appreciate the vehicle in its full view without its camouflage, the intensity shown in the video is also breathtaking. It is no longer merely an assault in the track, it is already a conquest. The vehicle looked like a land-based cruise missile as it speared through the circuit with ruthless aggression.
The car can be seen leaving serious skid marks in its wake as it literally burned its tires in the pavement, utilizing near every power provided by its 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine, which notably gives off 456 bhp and 479 lb-ft of torque. This displays what it can do when pushed near its limit. So, just imagine what its Black Series version is capable of. But let’s not get into that for now since that’s a long way to go.
If you crank up the volume, you can get a feel of the car’s massive exhaust noise too. Although not as loud as its SLS predecessor, the noise of the AMG GT is still imposing in its own right.
Lastly, looking below the video, the combined fuel consumption and the carbon dioxide emission of the Mercedes-AMG GT were revealed as well.
