Images Of Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Edition 1 Emerge
Peter Parcon September 26, 2014Although the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT was unveiled by the luxury vehicle manufacturer, images of the Edition1 of the vehicle emerged recently, according to a recent report from worldcarfans.com. The Edition 1 badge on the steering wheel of the vehicle provided industry watchers proof that it was indeed the Edition 1 of the luxury vehicle. The prototype of the luxury super car was being tested and was covered with camouflage.
The spy shots of the Edition 1 showed the vehicle featuring a fixed rear wing, which is the most obvious modification. Camouflage also covered the side skirts, front bumper and rear bumper of the luxury vehicle. Industry watchers revealed that the camouflage on these components may indicate some modifications on them.
Mercedes-Benz is known to launch the Edition 1 variants of new models whose availability is limited to the first year of production of the vehicle. However, the luxury vehicle manufacturer from Germany appears to be treating the AMG GT differently since the Edition 1 was not launched during the September 9 online launch of the luxury vehicle.
The AMG GT is the second sports car developed by Mercedes AMG. It features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine offering 462 HP of power. The GT S model has a power output of 510 HP. The engine of the AMG complies with the Euro 6 emissions standard. The luxury vehicle is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h within 3.8 seconds. It also has a maximum speed of 310 km/h. The fuel consumption of the GT model of the vehicle is 9.3 liters for every 100 kilometers.
The luxury vehicle is expected to be officially unveiled by the luxury vehicle manufacturer soon. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Edition 1 is also expected to appear on the Paris Motor Show 2014 together with the GT and GT S models of the luxury supercar.
