2009 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Receives Power Boost From Loewenstein
Peter Parcon August 31, 2014The 2009 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is among the most aggressive cars in the lineup of the German luxury vehicle manufacturer. When it initially came out in the market in 2009, the E63 featured a naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V8 engine.
However, this was later modified by Mercedes-Benz and current variants of the luxury vehicle feature a 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8 engine offering a power output ranging from 525 PS to 557 PS. In fact, the next generation of the E63 is expected to come with a much smaller 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine.
A recent report from worldcarfans.com revealed that Loewenstein is offering an upgraded power output program for the 2009 model of the E63.
The engine of the 2009 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG was the subject of the upgrade by Loewenstein. The tuning specialist was able to increase its power output to 720 PS. In addition to the power boost, Loewenstein also increased the torque of the E63 to 1,050 Nm. The power and torque boost for the luxury vehicle made it more powerful than the existing E63 AMG S-Model, which currently offers a power output of 585 PS and torque of 800 Nm.
The power increase came courtesy of the reprogrammed ECU of the E63 AMG along with specially-designed sports catalytic converters and K&N sports air filter. The ride height of the high-performance sedan was also lowered by 25 millimeters through the use of custom springs. On the other hand, the stock wheels were replaced with a set of 20-inch wheels clad in Super Sport tires from Michelin.
The overall look of the tuned 2009 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG was completed with the addition of an aluminum wrap that covered the entire body.
