Mercedes-Benz Canada Sales Show Continued Growth

According to a report from the Canada-based CNW on May 1st, the Canadian branch of the brand, along with its national dealer network, revealed that they sold a total of 3,371 Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter and smart vehicles in April this year.
The figures indicated Mercedes-Benz and the other brands under Daimler experienced a sales growth of 15.5 percent in a year-on-year basis. Overall, Mercedes-Benz Canada sales figures helped propel the brand’s national growth to 12 percent or 1,283 units, with 12,012 vehicles delivered over the year, based on the source.
The passenger car and luxury light truck variants of the brand had recorded sales of 2,887, which pushed a year-on-year growth of 14 percent or 362 units. The variants made up 10,203 units of vehicles delivered for the current year so far.
Mercedes-Benz Canada sales showed that passenger car sales were up by 30.2 percent for the month with sales amounting to 1,666 units, driving the total growth to 19.5 percent for 2014. The impressive sales growth was attributed by the brand to its S-Class, C-Class sedan, CLS-Class and E-Class models. Then, it put the CLA on special mention since it sold 370 units in April, fueled by the introduction of its 4MATIC permanent all-wheel-drive type.
Luxury light truck sales also remained high, thanks to the M-Class, G-Class and GL-Class. The sales for the mentioned vehicle types reached 1,221 units last month. Sales for the G-Class increased by a whopping 56.3 percent while M-Class and GL-Class sales grew to 36.8 percent and 17.9 percent, respectively in April.
