Mercedes MLC Spied for the First Time
Giancarlo Perlas April 24, 2014The Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV was only revealed last Easter at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. But now, thanks to the ever-vigilant spies of WorldCarFans, photos of the Coupe SUV’s prototype finally emerged. Although the photos showed a completely camouflaged vehicle, we are pretty positive that it is the Mercedes MLC.
Looking at the slope connecting the roof line to the hood and the one at the rear plus the overall contours of the auto, it surely reflects the platform used by the Concept Coupe SUV that we witnessed in Beijing. The front grille and even the wheels used were also the same with what was shown in the capital of the People’s Republic of China.
The bumper of the alleged Mercedes MLC seemed to have received a facelift though. The Concept Coupe SUV displayed a continuously running chrome mesh in the bumper, but the spy photos of the MLC revealed that it may have been sectioned. The other details of the Coupe SUV’s exterior are literally blurry as of the moment, but we will find out more about it when it starts losing some of its camo.
On a personal note, covering the lines and other external highlights of the Mercedes MLC surely produces the impression that it has a striking resemblance with the BMW X6. But let’s not get to that again. Hopefully, the final design of the product will finally quash that impression from fans and customers of the new Coupe SUV.
