The Stig Runs Circles Around Google Street View Car With Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe
Peter Parcon January 25, 2014The Stig is one cool gentleman who recently kept the Google Street View car company with a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe, according to a report from autoblog.com. A video showed the mystery driver, who can run a lap as fast as the best race car drivers in the world, running circles around the Opel Astra camera car at the test track of Top Gear.
Apparently Google was invited by Top Gear to record a video of their test track and include it in Google Maps. However, it was not a boring run for the Google driver as the Stig drifted around the Google car while putting up an impressive show for the camera.
The run by the Google Street View car will make it possible for anyone to explore the test track of Top Gear in Surrey within the comforts of their living room. However, it may be possible for anyone who wants to explore the test track to see a good amount of the rear side of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe, which literally ran circles around the Google vehicle.
The Stig ran circles around the Google Street View car as it ran the length of the 1.75-miles former airbase tarmac-turned test track of Top Gear. With its top speed of nearly 200 mph and 600HP engine, the Mercedes-Benz supercar made the Google car appear to be standing still.
The matchup may not have been an epic battle it did provide a notable visual treat for fans of the luxury vehicle manufacturer. The video showed the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe drifting around the Google Street View car a number of times before finally driving off into the sunset.
