New Mercedes-Benz S-Class Miniatures Available
Ryan Joseph Ramos July 30, 2013With the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class out, collectors knew that the scale models wouldn’t be far behind. The S-Class miniatures are now exclusively available from dealerships and sales and service outlets of Mercedes-Benz, as well as through the automaker’s online shop and the Mercedes-Benz Museum.
This year’s models are made by partners Herpa, Schuco, and Norev. Norev took care of the 1:18 scale model, while Schuco worked on the 1:43 scale variant, and Herpa produced the smallest version at 1:87 scale. The first two variants are based on the S 500.
Norev’s model measures at around 29 cm, and comes with over 145 individual parts. It retails for 79.90 euros (around $106). It’s available in iridium silver, blue anthracite, and diamond white.
The Schuco variant comes in at around 12 cm long, has over 55 individual parts, and retails for 29.90 euros (right under $40). Colors include magnetite black, diamond white metallic BRIGHT, and diamond silver.
Herpa’s 1:87 model is made up of 26 parts and retails for 15.90 euros (around $21). It comes in magnetite black, blue anthracite, and diamond white metallic BRIGHT colors.
As is standard with these Mercedes-Benz miniature replicas, they have a considerable amount of detail, all the way to the interior and equipment. Even the smallest scale model features detailed interiors. The 1:43 and 1:87 scale models even come with printed plinths and presentation cases. You can check out some of the details on the 1:18 model below.
