Active Multibeam LED Headlights Announced By Mercedes-Benz
Peter Parcon June 28, 2013The new Active Multibeam headlights will be introduced by Mercedes-Benz within the year, a report indicated recently.
The headlights will reportedly have a control system that functions depending on a particular situation, the company revealed. This will bring the lighting technology to an all-new level. Individual LED lighting diodes will be turned on to enhance targeting and light distribution.
Changes in the light pattern will be fast since a camera is used by the system to compute the ideal pattern at a rate of one hundred times each second.
The Active Multibeam LED will allow the headlamps to react quickly and individually to fit changes in traffic conditions. This was revealed by Thomas Weber, the Director of Mercedes Research and Development.
In addition, a number of functions will enhance the responsiveness of the driver. One function is anticipatory cornering detection in connection to the active light function. These features will allow Mercedes-Benz to maintain its position as a pioneer in lighting technology in the automobile industry.
