Track Clip Of E63 AMG S-Model Pair

That the latest E63 AMG is a superlative car is already a given, having 560 on tap in a “family” sedan. German car enthusiasts know that Mercedes is pitting this car squarely against Audi and BMW. Many may disagree, but the latest iteration of AMG’s mid-size hammer is the best looking of the current super sedans. With gaping intakes at the front and an engine note that can come only from a large V8, this ersatz family car will scare more than small kids.
In the accompanying video, Mercedes shows a pair of E63 AMGs, one being the 4-door and the other an estate version. As has been widely publicized, these AMG models, as well as the upmarket CLS, now come in S-Models that boast of even higher engine outputs and all-wheel drive 4Matic. Specifically 585 horsepower from the 5.5-liter twin turbo V8. The pair are seen circulating a closed course at speed, one presumes. The best shot occurs at around 1:06, when the cars are very close together, reminiscent of DTM racing.
The clip begins with a dry track, but past the midpoint of the 2-minute clip, you’ll see some spray coming from the wheels of the cars. The message seems to be that even with almost 600 horsepower on tap, the driver of these cars can confidently push the car to velocities that owners of less sophisticated cars wouldn’t sanely attempt.
