Actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger definitely prefers trucks over cars. Who can blame him? His big Mr. Universe and Terminator-like physique can make normal-sized cars seem so small. Also, maybe he likes a vehicle with plenty of room to move around. On the other light, preferring tough-looking trucks over cars might only be a way to feed his ego. Well, we are not sure about his reasons. But one thing is for sure, he sure know how to choose a perfect auto.

Late this year, he gave up his Hummer over a customized Mercedes-Benz Unimog. Based on several reports over the Internet, this apparently cost him around $250,000. Part of it covers federalization costs, since we all know that this type of truck hasn’t been sold in the US since 2007 due to the changes in the emission regulations.

The customized Unimog is capable of handling as much as 16,500 lbs of load, go over a surface with 31-inch water and can pass easily through a 45-degree slope. This makes it perfect for off-road conditions. Normally, this can only for around 50mph, which is not exactly made for traffic light challenges. But we bet that Arnie surely tuned this up to pack up more speed.

There is one problem though, he better be careful where he fills his tank because the Unimog is diesel-fed, which is not exactly common in fuel stations of his state.
