Mercedes-Benz at the 2012 Ryder Cup

Perhaps we can say that golf and luxury cars have something in common– the wealthy are attracted to them. Because of this, it is not surprising that Mercedes-Benz have decided to participate in the 2012 Ryder Cup that will happen on September 28- 30 at the Medinah Country Club in Chicago, Illinois. Aside from that, the brand has the title of being the “Official Vehicle of The PGA of America.”

According to Daimler’s website, Mercedes will have a hole-in-one challenge where the spectators can get a chance to shoot a hole-in-one and win a Mercedes-Benz GLK 350. The company will also be presenting the PGA Performance Center, which will offer those interested to learn golf, from improving their swing to the best putt, all these, using high-tech golf teaching technologies. Bernhard Langer, Mercedes’ brand ambassador, will also be at the Performance Center on Thursday at 2pm. Just near the first tee, the automotive company will showcase some of their best and most recent car models, with the Concept Style Coupe as the highlight.

“The Ryder Cup enjoys a unique status in golf. Every player from Europe and the US dreams of winning one of the most coveted golf trophy on Sunday, ” said Mercedes-Benz Cars’ head of global marketing communications, Luder Fromm. He added that, “For Mercedes-Benz it is a great honour to be also part of the Ryder Cup this year as a patron partner of The PGA of America.”
