Car and Driver has received some early spy shots of what should be the new SLR convertible. The pictures were taken in the Canary Islands where it was being tested for its launch in 2009.
The pictures are somewhat blury, but the convertible SLR can be seen quit nicely in the photos. It doesn’t seem that they have changed anything significant about the SLR, other then chopping its roof.
Check out the photos on the Car and Driver website.

Well, I guess that you must have realized how my infos are accurate with the confirmation that it is the CLK AMG Black Edition that is introduced at the NYIAS.
Here are some answers to FAQ :
1. It will have a high quality soft top
2. The butterfly doors will still be there
3. Still have 617 hp only (not like the 722 Edition)
4. The interior has carbon trim, like the 722 Edition, not cheap plastic like the Roadster version.
