AMG model to debut at NY Auto Show

The guys over at WorldCarFans have received some pictures of a mysterious AMG model that will make its debut at the New York Auto Show on April 4th. Nobody really knows what model it will be, as the car is covered up, but some people are speculating if it could be the CL65; others are more optimistic and are talking about a coupe based C-class. It is more likely that this will be the new C-class C63 AMG, but looking at the picture, it seems that the car does not have doorhandles in the back, which would make it a coupe, dunno. Check out the images and judge for yourself… Continue Reading »

Fifth Gear: Ferrari Enzo vs. Mclaren F1

Tiff Needell, from Fifth Gear, reviews two of the best Supercars available. Both of the cars have their pros and cons, but overall they are amazing, if we can believe Tiff that is. The exterior of these cars is perfect craftsmanship, but once your inside, the car is totally different; it’s more like a race car, than a luxury supercar. It seems that the Bugatti Veyron is one of the only ones that is both luxurious and sporty. The maintenance cost for both of the cars is just staggering, especially for the Mclaren F1. See the video and see for yourself why it costs so much to own a supercar.

Videos on Wednesday

I am finally bringing back the “Videos on Wednesday” category due to popular request – thank you for the emails. To start things off I present to you the latest ads for the Mercedes flagship – the S-class. I am not sure about you, but when I listen to the people talk about their experience and the car itself, I get goosebumps. We can clearly see how they are targeting the business people and executives, as those are probably the only ones that can afford a car like that. Beautiful commercial!

There’s a moron born every minute

It never stops to amaze me how stupid some people can be. A 28 year old woman identified only as Hayley from London drove her £96,000 ($187,372) SL500 into a river because she followed her nav-systems instructions. Alice Clark, 24, saw the incident and jumped into the river to help Hayley escape from the car and climb onto the sinking car. I just don’t understand why she would follow the nav-system if you can see that there is no road. Who is to blame for this incident, the stupid woman that clearly doesn’t have a brain, or the navigation system, which clearly was not updated. Update: The image above is… Continue Reading »

New C-Class wagon with no disguise

AutoZeitung, from Germany, have gotten their hands on pictures of what should be the new C-class Wagon. For most manufacturers it is hard to add a wagon to their model, as most of the times it looks odd and doesn’t fit the normal sedan, but Mercedes is among the few that can create a sedan and wagon that look amazing. The wagon should be released to the public on the Frankfurter Motor Show, which I plan to attend if everything works out. The only other wagon that I think can compete against the current c-lass wagon and probably the future one as well is the Audi A4/S4 Avant. Say whatever… Continue Reading »

Mercedes working on CL Cabrio

We’ve heard about these plans some time ago, but it is nice to hear these word from a DCX executive. According to a recent interview in Auto Motor und Sport, a senior DaimlerChrysler exec hinted that the company was carefully considering adding a convertible version of the CL luxury coupe. The recent Ocean Drive concept gave Mercedes the chance and technology to develop and extra long convertible roof that is able to be fitted on a four door car. The CL Cabrio will of course only have two doors, but the Ocean Drive Concept technology will no doubt make it feasable to develop a convertible roof for the future CL,… Continue Reading »

Next gen E-Class interior

Over the weekend, a story was posted on Autospies describing the interior of the next gen E-class. The “mole” did not take any pictures, but his/her description did paint a good picture of what it should look like. Here is what it will look like. I had a chance to see the inside of 2009 E-Class although I was not allowed to photograph it. I think your readers will apppreciate this insight… The headlamps have a sharp edge design, looks like some of the drawings. The lamps will not be round/oval any more. The interior is without gearstick, as the S, R and ML class, so I guess it only… Continue Reading »
