Smart designed for America
There is some interesting news coming from the guys over at Auto-Motor-und-Sport. They have asked Mark Stehrenberger from Santa Barbara to sketch them a Smart that Americans would like. Mark suggested four models for the US market; Fortwo Coupe /Cabrio, MPV/4x4 Crosser, Vanette and Pickup.

For the Fortwo Coupe/Cabrio: Since Americans need more space for their lifestyle and sport equipment. He suggested making a wide version with bigger wheels and more interior space.

The MPV/4x4 Crosser would be 3.7 meters long and have four seats that would have the ability to be converted into a bed. It would also have four doors, but be trendy as the current Smart.

The Vanette will be a longer wheel-base Smart and the Pickup S-Cargo will have a truck bed on the back with 2 seats in the front. The car would be designed for travelers, family or just as a cargo vehicle.
